About this deal

The camera is awful in dark light. The delay while you hold on the object varies wildly, with no indicator if you're going to get an image or a blur. Whereas I think the OnePlus 9 Pro or Galaxy S21 are more forgiving, the Pixel 6 Pro seems to have a smaller reader area. Google is reportedly working on a fix for the Pixel 6 range's fingerprint problems, so we'll see if that improves matters. In fact, it may have just arrived in the Android 13 beta. The Pixel 6 Pro also has the flagship-standard allocation of three cameras at the rear: one 50MP (f/1.85) main camera, a 12MP (f/2.2) ultrawide and a 48MP telephoto camera with an optical zoom of 4x. The latter can reach further using Google’s digital “Super Res Zoom” and isn’t present on the regular Pixel 6, but its 20x zoom can’t match the 100x “Space Zoom” of the S21 Ultra. Proximity Sensor, Light Sensor, Gyroscope Sensor, Accelerometer (G-Sensor), Motion Sensor, Magnetometer, Barometer, Fingerprint Sensor

Some better news for Pixel 6 Pro owners: the phone is now certified to work with Verizon's C-Band 5G network. C-Band 5G delivers faster speeds with better reach, so that's going to improve the life of Verizon customers who own a Pixel 6 Pro. It can also be fully charged at lightning speed, thanks to 30W fast charging which gets you from a dead battery to 50% in 30 minutes. How much does the Google Pixel 6 Pro cost? How about that Magic Eraser tool? In a word, it’s magic. If a stranger, overhead cable or lamppost is photobombing what would otherwise be an Insta-worthy picture, all you’ve got to do is edit the image, select Magic Eraser in the Tools section and draw an outline with your finger around what you want removed. The Pixel 6 then takes care of the rest in a couple of seconds. The Pixel 6 Pro phone is a worthless device - I own TWO. I've got over 30 years of dev experience also and I wouldn't buy this phone for a dead squirrel! The apps work (V12, Android, most recent release as-of 4/17/2022) but the phone, used as a phone, has VERY serious issues. Pictures are great! Text messaging... well you can lose your ENTIRE active text message that you're working on and you MUST restart. Zilch saved as temporary and NO way to recover. It's lost and never to be seen again. Low light performance on the main camera is very good, while the dedicated night sight mode works wonders on all three cameras in very dim scenes. The 11.1MP selfie camera is also very good and can shoot normal and ultrawide photos for when you need to fit more people into a group shot. The camera app crashes all the time, causes the phone to random reboot when you open it or change modes. Forget 3rd party apps the Google apps do not even work on this phone. This includes Photos, Gmail, Drive,Chrome, Maps - the app flashes open then closed again, eventually the phone will do a random reboot again. Chrome wouldn't work at all even after a reboot, the only thing that fixed it was a factory reset (clear cache etc didn't work).

The ultrawide camera is the weakest of the three. With a 0.7x magnification, it isn’t quite as “ultrawide” as I would like, compared with rivals that have 0.5x magnification and a wider field of view. But it produces really good images that are a little bit softer on detail than the main camera. The Pixel 6 Pro visually welcomes the users with its 6.71-inch OLED display, featuring 3120 x 1440 pixel resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate and an in-screen fingerprint scanner. With 512 pixels per inch clarity, it's one of the crispest and brightest QHD ones you could possibly find among the 2022 flagships on the market that also offer great colour accuracy. On the other hand, the fingerprint scanner isn't as great and we found it rather cumbersome to use at times. Battery Life: The Biggest Weakness

Google Pixel 6 Pro

Other improvements within Android 12 include changes to widget settings, a one-handed mode and a new AppSearch feature. This allows you to search for stuff within an app in the phone’s settings menu, rather than launching the app itself. This time around, Google is using its own custom silicon for the first time ever in its own flagship smartphones and the idea behind this decision is to be able to have more control over the optimisation of the performance. Even though it doesn't score better than some other high-end chipsets, It's a powerful chip that certainly delivers plenty of real-life speed and comfort. Moreover, it expectedly supports a 5G cellular connection. Cameras: Best In The Business Overheating. If the phone is in a case, and it's trying to connect to wifi without finding a connection it gets hot. So hot is disables features. What a smoking turd feature. The Pixel 6 Pro is... without a doubt...the worst phone I've ever had. I've had this phone for nearly a year. It's my first, and last time I will ever consider a Google phone. I wish I could give it zero stars.

Call quality and 5G reception was good, as was Bluetooth performance to several sets of headphones. According to Google, Tensor delivers “up to 80% more performance than Pixel 5”, which runs on a Snapdragon 765G. In typical Google fashion, the search giant says its AI features enable better performance across a slew of machine-learning-specific tasks.See what makes Pixel 6 Pro our smartest and fastest Pixel yet. It's fully loaded with powerful 5G connectivity and enhanced Wi-Fi and Bluetooth® performance. Like last year, the Pixel 6 has a dual rear camera setup, although this now consists of a 50MP main camera that captures 150% more light than before and a 12MP ultrawide camera. Note that the sensor on the main camera is a whopping 1/1.3in in size (bigger than the iPhone 13 Pro Max’s main camera sensor) and has pixels that are 1.2um wide. On the other hand, battery life isn’t the Pixel 6’s strong suit. Lasting just a bit longer than the Pixel 6 Pro, the regular model topped out at just 18hrs 34mins in our video-rundown test, which represents a stamina decrease of 19% compared to 2020’s Pixel 5 (22hrs 54mins). You’ll be charging the phone more often, which is a shame. The main camera, it’s worth noting, has a large 1/1.2in sensor, 1.2um pixels and is capable of capturing 150% more light than the main camera on the Pixel 5. It’s pretty darn good, in other words, especially in low light. Almost immediately, there’s a noticeable improvement in detail capture and sharpness, with the Pixel 6 Pro’s scenic images looking spectacular in practically every instance.

Perhaps the most intriguing upgrade to this year’s Google phones is the least visible. Inside the Pixel 6 resides the first Google-produced processor: the Google Tensor. This is an octa-core part that looks similar in makeup to the Snapdragon 888. Built on a 5nm manufacturing process, it has a pair of 2.8GHz ARM-X1 cores for running high-performance jobs, two “medium” 2.25GHz ARM A76 cores and four low-power ARM A55 efficiency cores running at 1.8GHz. Honestly it's not a great look, and Google should have known better. Pixel 6 Pro review: Software and special features The Pixel 6 Pro is the best phone Google has ever made. Whether that will be enough for it to be a hit remains to be seen. What I can test, however, is whether the Pixel 6 lives up to Google’s lofty performance claims. Running the Geekbench 5 test, which scores both single- and multicore CPU performance, the Pixel 6 scored 1,031 and 2,843 respectively. Compare those figures to the Pixel 5 and we’re looking at a roughly 75% increase in raw speeds.

Video quality is a step up from previous Pixels, but is still not nearly as good as Google’s still photography, and lags behind Apple and Samsung. As for 5G, the Pixel 6 Pro uses an older Samsung 5123 modem. This piece of hardware is more equivalent to the Qualcomm X55 modem from 2020 that we saw in the Galaxy S20 and iPhone 12 models. Granted, few US carriers take full advantage of the new X60 modem, but there are efficiency gains over the X55 and Samsung 5123. In practice, this leads to 5G on the Pixel 6 Pro (and the Pixel 6) draining more battery than it probably ought to. March 2023 saw the Pixel 6 Pro get a bunch of new features, as part of the latest Google Pixel Feature Drop. The most notable is the faster Night Sight which debuted on the Pixel 7 lineup, and promises to speed up the process of taking low-light photos. Thanks to new Tensor-powered algorithms that has come to the Pixel 6 series.
