About this deal

In a mixed review, Michael Phillips of the Chicago Tribune wrote, "The worst of this new Lady and the Tramp comes when the script piles on the strenuous comic action, followed by ill-advised dark shadows." Si and Am’s speech and behavior reflects derogatory stereotypes of Asian people. In 2020, the Disney+ streaming service added a content warning for the film, noting that Lady and the Tramp “includes negative depictions and/or mistreatment of people or cultures” and that “these stereotypes were wrong then and are wrong now.” [4] Fleming, Mike Jr. (February 8, 2018). Lady and the Tramp is a 2019 American musical romance film directed by Charlie Bean and written by Andrew Bujalski and Kari Granlund, and produced by Walt Disney Pictures and Taylor Made, and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. The film is a live-action/ CGI hybrid remake of Walt Disney's 1955 animated film of the same name, which was based on the 1945 Cosmopolitan magazine story of "Happy Dan, the Cynical Dog" by Ward Greene. The film stars the voices of Tessa Thompson, Justin Theroux, Janelle Monáe, and Sam Elliott with the human characters portrayed by Thomas Mann, Kiersey Clemons, Yvette Nicole Brown, F. Murray Abraham, Adrian Martinez, and Ken Jeong. It is dedicated to storyboard artist Chris Reccardi, who died on May 2, 2019. Cinema: The New Pictures". Time. Vol.66, no.2. July 11, 1955. The score for the film was composed and conducted by Oliver Wallace. It was the last Disney animated film for which Oliver Wallace did the score, as the scores for the next six Disney animated films were composed by George Bruns, starting with Sleeping Beauty until Robin Hood. Recording artist Peggy Lee wrote the songs with Sonny Burke and assisted with the score as well. [6] In the film, she sings "La La Lu", "The Siamese Cat Song", and "He's a Tramp". [55] She helped promote the film on the Disney TV series, explaining her work with the score and singing a few of the film's numbers. As far as the widescreen version that most will (and should) opt for, yes, change has occurred and for the better. Unlike its 1999 Limited Issue DVD release in the 2.35:1 aspect ratio, Lady here measures to exactly 2.55:1, meaning the entire width of its Scope aspect ratio (and Lady is Disney's widest animated film ever) has apparently been preserved. That such a feat was accomplished is part of more great news; like other classic films treated to Platinum Editions, Lady has undergone a drastic restoration job from the fine folks at DTS Digital Images (formerly known as Lowry Digital). While Disney's press materials haven't made as big a deal of this as they did for Cinderella or Bambi, the results are every bit as pleasing, if not more so. Singer Peggy Lee not only voiced four characters but co-wrote six songs for the film. [12] Animation
