About this deal

As things stand it is a blast to read with my daughter and much to my delight she really enjoys it as well. Room on the Broom is a 2012 animated TV short based on the book of the same name written by Julia Donaldson and illustrated by Axel Scheffler. He added that although it's nice to meet the monster, it's time for him to fly and after taking one final scared look at it, Dragon retreats and flew off into the sky in frightened defeat.

BBC One - Room on the Broom - Dragon

Following the resounding success of my Locus Quest, I faced a dilemma: which reading list to follow it up with? I used to memorise poems as a child and it means a lot to me when parents tell me their child can recite one of my books. Room on the Broom, another children’s story from Donaldson and Scheffler, gives its name to the new experience inside the former Hocus Pocus Hall. For while the important and necessary messages regarding kindness and sharing (and that if one is generous and solicitous then that same consideration will also often if not even usually be repaid and repaid in full) are of course pretty overtly presented in Room on the Broom, Julia Donaldson's rollicking rhymes are not only fun and engaging, not to mention sweetly lyrical, they also very much make both readers and listeners forget that the presented messages are rather in one's face so to speak, they make us simply enjoy and appreciate Room on the Broom as a sweet little story of a kind and caring witch making room on her broom for the diverse animals that had helped her find her lost or rather her "blown off the broom" clothing and witchery accoutrements (and who is later then rescued from a vile dragon by those same and grateful animal friends). The project team at Merlin Magic Making would like to extend its thanks to Daryl Shute, Alex Sanson and Bridie Gibbs at Magic Light Pictures for their support throughout the development of Room on the Broom: A Magical Journey.Based on author Julia Donaldson (of The Gruffalo) and illustrator Alex Scheffler's popular picture book, ROOM ON THE BROOM is the story of a ginger-braided witch (voiced by Gillian Anderson) and her faithful pet cat (Rob Brydon) who fly over the mountains, rivers, and forests without a care in the world. They all fall to the ground, and the witch encounters a big, red, terrifying dragon who wants to eat her. Common Sense is the nation's leading nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of all kids and families by providing the trustworthy information, education, and independent voice they need to thrive in the 21st century. It was a similar encounter at Chessington that gave Hicks her first inkling that she might one day like to work in the theme park and attractions industry. Whilst River Ride Adventure offers an immersive but essentially passive voyage through the Gruffalo’s world, Room on the Broom – A Magical Journey offers a more interactive experience.

From the original books, all the way through to personalised goods, there is something for every type of fan. When you hear Room on the Broom, you don’t instantly think of STEM, but this fun and challenging activity asks students to draw a sketch of their idea and then create it using lego, dough, or another means of creating. So yes, indeed, I have been very much pleasantly surpised by Julia Donaldson's presented verses in her utterly delightful Room on the Broom. Children familiar with the book will be particularly excited to see the short and sweet 27-minute film. The walk-through is automated but has been created so it can be operated with actors inside, who manually trigger each scene with a button. After the witch and her cat flew off on her broomstick, Dragon creeps out of the woods and sniffs the burnt campsite, catching her scent. The Dragon lick his lips and decided that for once, he'll eat the witch without any chips and walks over to the bog, carrying the witch in his paw. This prompted me to unearth some plays I’d written for a school reading group, and since then I’ve had 20 plays published. Featuring the voices of Gillian Anderson (Witch), Rob Brydon (Cat), Martin Clunes (Dog), Sally Hawkins (Bird), Simon Pegg (Narrator), Timothy Spall (Dragon) and David Walliams (Frog).
